Common questions
Who is Arnivar for?
Building managers, facility teams, safety consultants and warden teams responsible for evacuations, lockdowns and occupant safety: commercial buildings, offices, schools, healthcare and multi-site portfolios.
Does Arnivar replace our fire safety equipment or emergency plan?
No. Arnivar supplements your building's installed fire safety equipment and systems (alarms, occupant warning systems, sprinklers, exit signage) and your emergency plan and procedures. It does not replace them. It adds coordination, live visibility and accountable records on top of the measures your building already requires.
Can I see which wardens are on duty in real time?
Yes. Wardens report in when an event starts, and the live view shows who is on duty and who isn't, so the Chief Warden can direct coverage where it's needed.
How do wardens update floor evacuation status?
Floor wardens sweep their floor and mark it from the app. Building-wide progress updates live for the Chief Warden, floor by floor, until the all-clear.
How does Arnivar support people who need help evacuating (PEEPs)?
Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan details are stored against each person and surfaced to wardens instantly during an event, including the type of assistance required. (Not included in Arnivar Respond Lite.)
Can it record occupants who refuse to evacuate?
Yes. Refusals are tagged against the person and the event, giving wardens and emergency services accurate information and giving you an accountable record afterwards.
How do occupants confirm they're safe?
By warden 'roll call' at evacuation zones, or by replying to the safety check broadcast via the app - or SMS if activated - with 1 for SAFE or 9 for IN DANGER. Either way their status updates automatically for the warden team. (Not included in Arnivar Respond Lite.)
Do drills work the same way?
Yes, drills run through exactly the same system as a real emergency: alerts, report-in, floor sweeps and the all-clear. The drill documents itself, and on Arnivar Respond & Wardens those records feed your compliance register in the admin portal.
