SMS and Messaging Terms & Conditions

Last updated · 14 July 2026

Arnivar, operated by Blackburn Solutions (Australia), uses SMS to keep people informed during building emergencies. When your organisation registers your mobile number with Arnivar, you can receive critical alerts, evacuation instructions and safety check-ins by text message, and reply so your safety team knows you are accounted for.

The short version: Arnivar texts are emergency and safety messages only. Frequency varies with events, standard carrier rates may apply, reply STOP to opt out, reply HELP or email help@arnivar.com for help. We never use your number for marketing.

SMS emergency alerts at a glance

1. What these terms cover

These terms apply to SMS messages sent by Arnivar. By keeping your mobile number registered with Arnivar (whether you provided it yourself or your organisation added it as part of its emergency program), you agree to receive emergency and safety communications by SMS under these terms, including evacuation and lockdown instructions, safety check-ins and critical updates about your building or site.

2. Purpose of messages

Messages sent from Arnivar are for critical safety and emergency communications only. This includes, but is not limited to, emergency alerts, evacuation orders, lockdown instructions, safety status requests, warden coordination messages and updates during a building emergency or drill. We do not send marketing, promotional or fundraising messages by SMS, ever.

3. Message frequency

Message frequency varies with the occurrence and severity of emergency events at your site. During an active incident or drill you may receive multiple messages in a short period; outside of events you may receive none at all.

4. Cost

Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Arnivar does not charge you to receive messages, and Blackburn Solutions is not responsible for any charges applied by your mobile provider, including charges for replies you send.

5. Replies during an event

Arnivar messaging is two-way. During an emergency event or drill, replies you send (other than STOP and HELP) are delivered to your site's safety team so wardens can see your status and respond. Replies are part of the event record your organisation keeps for its safety program. SMS is not monitored outside of active events; if you need help at any other time, use the contact details in section 10.

6. Opting out

You can opt out of Arnivar SMS at any time by replying STOP to any message. You will receive a single confirmation that you have been unsubscribed, and no further SMS will be sent to your number.

Please consider the safety implications before opting out. Arnivar SMS carries emergency alerts and evacuation instructions for your building. If you opt out, your organisation's safety team may still try to reach you through other channels (such as the Arnivar mobile app or your warden), but you will no longer receive these alerts by text. If you opted out by mistake, contact your organisation's Arnivar administrator or email help@arnivar.com to be re-enrolled.

7. Delivery

SMS is delivered over telecommunications carrier networks that we do not control. Delivery can be delayed or fail because of network congestion, coverage, a switched-off or out-of-range handset, carrier filtering or number changes. Arnivar should be one part of your building's emergency communications, alongside the Arnivar mobile app, alarms and warden instructions, and not the only way you expect to be warned.

8. Your responsibilities

Keep your mobile number up to date with your organisation's Arnivar administrator. If you change or give up your number, tell your administrator so messages are not sent to someone else. Do not rely on SMS as your sole source of emergency information, and always follow the directions of wardens and emergency services on the ground.

9. Privacy

Your privacy matters to us. Your mobile number and message content are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We use your number only to deliver the safety communications described here; we do not sell, rent or trade it, and we do not share it with advertisers or use it for marketing. SMS is delivered on our behalf by telecommunications carriers, which process messages as service providers.

10. Help and support

For help with Arnivar SMS, reply HELP to any message, or contact us at help@arnivar.com. Privacy questions: admin@arnivar.com. General enquiries: info@arnivar.com.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these SMS terms from time to time. Changes take effect when the updated terms are posted on this page, and the "last updated" date above will change. Continuing to receive Arnivar SMS after an update means you accept the updated terms. Significant changes will also be communicated to your organisation's administrators.
